Housing in our community is too expensive!! We need affordable housing and protections against greedy landlords. They will give you a song and dance about how horrible renters are, but they gouge renters as much as possible. I work at a church, which is a respectable job, but rather low paying. In order to pay rent, I had to do without a car for several years. I live in a small town with no mass transit, so being able to do necessary things like grocery shopping was very difficult. Now I live in subsidized senior housing which is affordable and can now afford a car. We don't have enough subsidized housing in our town, and the places that people can afford are barely habitable!!
