I happen to be a landlord myself, and am horrified to see the kinds of rent hikes that I see from landlords all around the country. I lived for years in Chicago and saw that behavior, and now live in Seattle, where the same behavior is rampant. That's why we need the federal government to do more than what it is doing now to regulate rents and other practices. We need FHFA to do what is necessary to limit rent hikes, ban evictions without good cause, and standardize leases in all of the units that the agency oversees. This will lead to more stable communities and families. Thank you!
