Although I now own my home, I stand in solidarity with all renters in supporting the Federal Housing Finance Agency's proposed rule of conditioning government-backed loans on a set of tenant protections. All tenants deserve safe housing and protections against rent hikes, evictions, and discrimination. Housing is not only a human right. It is necessary for human survival, and no one should be allowed to price gouge, deny anyone this vital necessity, or allow it to become unsafe. Thank you for considering these protections.
