I live in Huger, SC and believe we need a rental cap. I'll be a tenant soon when I graduate high school and worry if I'll even be able to afford to apply and meet the ridiculous requirements to even get into an apartment. We need tenant protects so I know as a reach adulthood that I'll be able to have a shot at living independently. I lived with my family in a rental property that had bad bed bugs that made me itch and need to go to hospital bc we found I was allergic. Landlords should have to give us Safe, quality, accessible housing standards: Require all landlords to keep their properties in good condition, and to ensure homes are accessible for people with disabilities. No renter should have to live in an inaccessible home or in housing conditions that put their health and safety at risk.
