Our organization has worked diligently for more affordable housing. A lack of enforceable tenant's rights is part of the crisis. Tenants fail to complain about poor maintenance or rent-increases because housing alternatives are simply not available. Eviction mediation and other alternatives are often critical, especially for families with children.
