I live in Lexington, KY. Renting here is hard. My rent is $900 a month. It my mom gets social security and I’m the only one who worked. Her whole check goes to rent and then some. Our rent keeps me from affording nice things for myself, it keeps me from affording groceries. I can’t afford health insurance because of my rent. Tenants need protections to stop rent hikes, and for my landlord to actually fix my home.
