I own my home in Kansas City, but when I heard that federal tax dollars are being used to help landlords but their property while so many of my neighbors are struggling to survive in KC and around the country, I was very upset. Especially because I learned there is no oversight when landlords get this money, with regards to maintaining affordability and habitability for its residents. I don’t think that is right and I think the federal government needs to mandate that landlords be subject to requirements in order to get and keep federal tax dollars. It is in the best interest of my city and this country. Thank you.
