    My name is Jordan and I am a tenant living in Louisville, KY. I am a member of the Homes Guarantee Campaign.
    Finding affordable housing in Louisville is impossible for a single individual without being extremely unaffordable. If you don’t have any in your life to help with rent or live as a roommate, you are likely working to death. The rent increase comes at a time of economic recession for this country.
    The Federal Housing Finance Agency should protect us by limiting annual rent hikes to 1.5 times the Consumer Price Index or 3%, whichever is lower, in properties with federally backed mortgages. These limits should be applied universally as a requirement to all federally backed mortgage programs.
