I am writing to affirm my strong support of tenant protections, rent control, right to counsel and just cause evictions. I rented my whole life up until last year, and know first hand how much of a difference having safe, stable housing can make in a life. I'm also a therapist who works primarily with low income people, and consistently see housing-related stressors as one of the primary barriers to them being well.
