Working people in the United States continue to be oppressed under the thumb of corporate greed and political corruption. The cost of living and corporate profit continue to skyrocket, but wages go nowhere. The fundamental to a healthy and joyful life and economy is the ability to afford where you live. It is impossible for working people to afford to live if rents continue to rise and wages go nowhere. We absolutely need rent regulations to protect tenants from egregious rent. Profiting off the inability of people to afford their own homes is absolutely evil and has no place in a functioning, healthy society.
