I was a tenant at the Mayflower Manor 263 south main st Akron Ohio 44308. I lived in a subsidized apt starting April 30th 2016 until I was wrongly evicted in October 2022 when a new management company Capitol realty out of New York city made a deal with our city to renovate our historic building. Capital realty took over around May 2019. Renovations began end of June 2019. They moved in 2 groups of workers into empty Apts. The workers took shifts to work 24/7 for almost 2 years. The workers also made dozens and dozens of no notice entries even physically pushing past me to gain entry into my apt without notice. Tenants repeatedly complained to the office, HUD and various other organizations with no help whatsoever. I feel I was retaliated against for not giving in to them bullying me and others. Our civil rights were completely ignored. Those of us who tried to stand up for our rights were unable to recertify due to constant lost paperwork or new rules etc. This happened to me in April 2021 although I was not notified that my rent had increased from $67 to an unbelievable $1224 until June 2021 which by then I was already too far behind to do anything. I applied for rental assistance to attempt to catch up and hoping I could recertify somehow but that paperwork was also lost. I applied again and I have witnesses to all of this but the dishonest bully of a manager took too long and obviously was doing everything in she could to evict me and several others who fought back and stood for our civil rights and tenants rights to no avail. This caused me a great deal of emotional distress and I'm still homeless to this day. I have several videos and pictures depicting only small portion of what we had to live through not including 2 years without heat or air conditioning which management told us to turn our ovens on for heat in the winter in northeast Ohio.
