I am a renter in Columbia, SC and the rent is too damn high. I was approved for a one bedroom apartment that was advertised at 600 per month but upon signing lease the final price after fees was over $800. I just renewed my lease with them and we didn't have a rent hike but I'm nervous that the rent will increase soon and I'll be unable to afford the rent and will have to move again. Where will I go then? The rent across the city is unaffordable. There needs to be tenant protections to protect us tenants from huge rent hikes. Sc
