I’m a mom of 3 children. I pay $2200 a month in rent a month. That is totally on me. If my child or myself get sick and I have to miss work the anxiety of making sure I’m able to pick up shifts to make u the difference. I’ve missed milestones of my children’s lives. I’m grateful that my current landlord lives in the building and so it is well maintained, but I’m paying for that with the price of rent. I’ve lived in more affordable places but they made me sick and I knew my kids deserved better. I’m well aware that if there is another rent increase I can’t afford it.
We need rent control for federally backed loans.
