I lived in Charleston, SC for over 10 years and ultimately relocated to Philadelphia for lower rent prices. My daughter had to move their family from Charleston to Philadelphia when they were unable to afford the rising rents in apartment complexes and couldn't deal with Private slumlords who didn't make repairs or provide habitable living conditions. She and her kids lived here in Philadelphia while her husband found housing for them in SC. It took 8 months. The rent in SC is too high. There should at the least be protection from rent increases and more support for tenants overall. Sc
