I'm with CHA - I was laid off from my job at a homeless shelter, and what saved me was that they went according to my income. if i'd been paying market rent, i'd have fallen on my face. But I've still had problems. As a sub - I work 10 months out of year. they were trying to add those two months charging me as if i was working the whole year. i have a friend that lives over here and she told me they were charing her $1000/month. Rent is too much! We have had four different management companies in the last 4-5 years. With Jane Adams Hull House, things were good, but after the change, certain things that need to be fixed, aren't getting fixed. my bathroom has so much mold, a couple other residents complain of the same things. they aren't keeping up with work orders. We need more legal protections for tenants!
