Tenants need protections, especially when Fannie and Freddie Mac are involved. If government enterprises are involved in housing, they need to priorizar the needs of ordinary people rather than landlords and banks. We need limits on rent increases to keep people on their homes. All Americans have a right to housing, and FHFA needs to help realize that right by creating tenant protections.
