As a former homeowner, now renting an apartment in Philadelphia, I have had to bare annual rent increases of 15-20% with no improvements in management services or apartment complex conditions. Its outrageous that there is no rent control or landlord/owner accountabiliy for decent housing conditions in Philly or PA. The least FHFA can do is to place reasonable controls on rent increases and the maintenance of quality housing conditions underwritten by federal financing. I urge you to approve AND implement the new reforms that will puit limits on rent hikes, evictions, and a ban on discrimination.
