Housing insecurity and homelessness are on the rise in my community. The measures city officials take to address the crisis are wholly inadequate because they presuppose a healthy community grows the status quo. residents who do not own property, who have been denied access to loans, to wealth generating opportunities, are de-prioritized in housing policies that favor profit-seeking developers. We urge swift passage of tenant protections, including but not limited to rent control. We know that growth that benefits some at the expense of others is unsustainable, A
