I am a single mother of three kids, two who still live at home. My monthly wages barely come to $1600/mo. How is a person like me supposed to afford $1000+ in rent? It's impossible. Some say the solution is to get another job. When you're already working 40 hours a week and have kids who need you, what is another option? Lowering the rent. People just want to live peacefully and safe and provide for our kids and not have to decide if the rent is going to be paid or feed our kids.
