Make conditional government-backed loans to be on a set of tenant protections. These protections include regulations on rent hikes and evictions, housing safety requirements, bans on discrimination, and more. If enacted, they could benefit over 12.4 million rental homes across the country.
We want to make sure those loans are granted based on ACTUALLY being good landlords. Otherwise landlords have and will continue to take advantage of tenants.
