The push to prevent rent increases is destructive and unsustainable. If we are going to hold Landlords to a higher standard we should also hold Tenants to the same higher standard. Otherwise, it's discriminatory and destructive to the industry. We know that there are bad landlords, much like bad politicians, attorneys, doctors, etc., however, we should not design the entire operation around those few people.
If we are not going to implement requirements for Tenants and Landlords, then we should not implement any at all.
