I am writing as an individual citizen. Although I am lucky enough to own my home, I worry about my many younger friends who rent. Most of them have average jobs with average wages and have enough trouble covering living expenses without being able to save up a downpayment on a home of their own. Top that with their worries about eviction by landlords who want to jack up already high rents. Please do what you can to cap increases in rent.
