Dear director Thompson, My name is Aleah and I have been renting an apartment for a little over $1000 but they keep adding more and more fees every month that they don’t explain and we’re paying over $1200 at this point in mystery fees! They should not be able to just add random fees onto my rent without telling me what is going on! They shouldn’t be raising the rent and I found out that my apartment was purchased with help from the FHFA. Why are my tax dollars being used to raise my rent! That’s not fair! They also don’t fix anything! Our dishwasher has been broken for months and the washer and dryer are also broken and they won’t fix it! There was one time that our building and another building didn’t even have water for 2 weeks. We couldn’t take showers or wash our dishes or anything. We also didn’t have A/C for 3 weeks! After all that, they didn’t even decrease the rent at all! I still had to pay the full payment! That is NOT fair. There are also no security cameras on the property so, when our car was broken into, there was nothing they would not do anything to help me. They should have to do these things if MY tax dollars were used to buy the property that I PAY FOR. They should also not be able to raise the rent if the government helped them buy these apartments.
