When i moved into my apartment in really hot weather, my apartment did not have air conditioning for an entire month. I experienced a medical emergency and was hospitalized in that time and I still could not get my air on. The technician they hired was even upset with the apartments because they said that there were so many bandaid fixes that it was so frustrating to fix, they almost couldn’t do it for what they were being paid. The mortgage for apartments was insured by the FHFA and I think that, if they are going to use our tax money to insure these landlords’ businesses, there should be RULES for these programs. They shouldn’t be able to raise rent over 1-2% because their mortgage isnt going up, and I am the one paying it! They should be fixing these things well and doing better regular maintenance since they have no risk right now. They shouldn’t cheap out on things I need to live comfortably in the home I pay for!
