I am a renter near Los Angeles. Throughout the area, I have seen rents going up and up. With the new softwares that allow collusion between landlords, they're able to keep raining prices. The software companies have even admitted to pushing landlords to raise the rent beyond what they're comfortable with. This issue and many others are going to either push people into homelessness or require some sort of protections. If the government doesn't do everything they can to help renters, people will die.
