    Dear Director Thompson,

    My name is Kristen Semple, volunteer with Sane Energy Project and renter. Sane Energy Project is an environmental justice organization that is part of the New York-based Housing Justice for All Coalition, as we believe the right to housing and the right to a clean environment are intrinsically linked. I urge you to adopt rules to subject recipients of federal funding from your agency, which I understand would impact 12 million apartments nationwide, to limited rent hikes, good cause eviction, and standardized leases. We want tenant protections attached to federal money for housing.
