My mother passed away this year due to a blood clot. The landlord took this as a opportunity to evict us, with zero resources and denied us third party rental assistance. I’m developmentally disabled, in chronic pain with a brother who is a stroke patient who has suffered four strokes in his life. He is also having on set dementia. We are as we speak (June, 13, 2023) set to be HOMELESS. She wasn’t a kind landlord, I knew this from how she talked about my mother when she WAS alive. Then, the complex itself? Lacks good surveillance camera for night time.

The whole complex don’t really like her, since she is in fact very rude.

I also find it scary how as soon as someone dies unfortunately and suddenly, tenants aren’t protected, especially if they are disabled. They should be able to get immediate rehousing or Supportive Services to get back on their feet. Also, people at on profit shelters should be trained on how to properly help people in these dire situations! I’ve had people get mad at me for the mistakes of other people! It’s unheard of.

Also, the rapid evictions and high rent prices are outrageous. There are NOT enough laws protecting their tenants from greed!
