The balance of power between tenants and their landlords is completely predatory -- our organization has seen first-hand the types of living conditions that our people are dealing with and how the landlords are not made to keep their properties safe and habitable. Tenants fear wrongful evictions in the face of a justice system that does not seek justice for tenants. These protections would be an important step in ensuring that tenants have basic protections. I strongly support these measures.
