Rental prices are out of control, and there is nothing that I can do about it. Last month my landlord informed my family that they were raising our rent by $200 per month. They claimed that the cost of landscaping, and maintenance has increased and they have to offset their costs. I have been a tenant with them for more than 10 years, and we are good tenants. I just cannot see that they have a justification for this steep increase. I cannot afford to move, and comparable rentals are even more costly. Due to the extremely overpriced housing market, I know that there is no way that I could afford to purchase a home; therefore I am a hostage of the current housing climate. Please help make housing affordable for middle class people again.
