I think monthly rent is way too high considering the cost of living. In my circumstances, I'm a first time mom and I feel as if I can't get an apartment on my own without having someone living with me to go half on rent. In order to get that amount I'd have to be working hours I can't afford, with a new born child. It's unrealistic and damaging honestly.
