    My name is Fernanda Sanchez, I live in Los Angeles CA and I am a part of the Homes Guarantee Campaign.

    I believe in tenant protections through the country. Here in Los Angeles, we have seen mass eviction in an unprecedented rate. This city alone is over 67% renters; we are working class folks who built and run this city, and are left without any protections for our homes and livelihood. Housing is a human right, and the rent is too damn high. Corporate banks like Fannie Mae are some of the biggest culprits in the mass eviction crises, rent hikes, slumlord living conditions, and more.
    In addition to limits on rent hikes, the FHFA should prohibit evictions without good cause, ban source of income discrimination, enforce and expand existing protections against discrimination, require safe and accessible housing conditions, create a landlord registry, require fair and standardized
