    Median rents across our country have reached $2000 a month, at a time when inflation has raised prices to historical highs, without wages being raised to meet them. Americans are being pulled to the brink of poverty by companies and landlords who are making record profits. An impoverished America is a more dangerous America for everyone. We need to do control rent increases to protect our fellow citizens and our own domestic security. Making sure that everyone has a fighting chance at financial stability in this country is smart policy, and will save us all money in the long run. Let’s put a cap on runaway rent hikes now! We can change the direction of this country toward stability. Thank you!
