It’s a fact. I’m an elderly independent senior. However, I was thrown out due to human error. Even though I tried to be in compliance organization was negligent. I paid the consequences. I suggest that their should be audits done when given funds or grants to help the low- income, especially in need like myself. Due to selected few or who they chose were helped. We didn’t have a manager for months. Squatters lived there. I’m glad I lived on the 6th floor. People died no one knew til bodies stunk. Main organization wouldn’t answer phone call or emails from me anyway. There were three individuals including myself were told we owed back rent. I didn’t and I couldn’t answer for the others. I even sent copies of my rent receipts they corrected their ledger and still by their calculations I still owed the money and threw me out. One more thing not enough of affordable housing for seniors. Majority of housing are either luxury, families and on the east side or south of KCMO. I didn’t want to be another statistic of another homeless senior. I left KCMO. Do the right thing the elderly and the children. Thank you for your time.
