I am perplexed as to why Fannie and Freddie are still under conservatorship. I could be wrong, but I see no mention of removing these entities from the conservatorship. It seems to me that these are healthy entities and with the exception of the Treasury taking all of their earnings while leaving the shareholders out to dry, is not what conservatorship is about. Why is the government still taking their profits when these entities have more than fully paid back any monies given to them...and given to them under quite suspicious circumstances. Something does not smell right here. I would like to know if there are any plans to release these two entities from conservatorship?
