I find the proposed 1% increase to the loan rates of those with good credit very concerning. This proposal punishes the already struggling middle class. Two individuals could earn the same income: one lives above their means, takes lavish vacations, and has credit card debt while the other is frugal and scrimps and saves. By this proposal’s current logic, the responsible individual who has sacrificed in an effort to live below their means should subsidize the individual who is living a chosen life of luxury? This is going to price many hard working and responsible Americans out of the housing market. As usual, the middle class is punished in an attempt to redistribute “wealth” while the 1% remains untouched.
