It is wrong to punish those who have worked tirelessly to set themselves up for success in terms of good credit. It is a privilege to purchase a home, something that also comes after working hard. If the concern is poor credit leading to unfair or unrealistic opportunities for those struggling, make financial education more streamlined and easier to access and understand. It took me 31 years to figure it out, I’m still digging myself out of my debt grave, but I’m doing it without help because I worked my butt off for a better future. Educate, provide resources, let people make their own decisions without providing handouts while punishing others who had to figure it out for themselves.
