The Federal Housing Finance Agency (“FHFA”) has issued a request for input to “Improve Access to Credit for Qualified Mortgage Borrowers with Limited English Proficiency” (https://www.fhfa.gov/Media/PublicAffairs/Pages/FHFA-Issues-Request-for-…), concerning language support for mortgage documents supplied to credit applicants who have limited English proficiency (“LEP”).
Docutech is a mortgage document vendor which creates and supplies mortgage documents to mortgage lenders. As such, we are well acquainted with the various laws and investor requirements regarding support for LEP and what the ramifications are for complying with these requirements. We would, therefore, like to provide input on this important matter.
