A recent BankThink piece argued that the Federal Home Loan banks provide "insufficient tangible benefit. I could not disagree more. The Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago (FHLBC) has been a great partner allowed us to continue to make residential mortgage loans when our retail deposit growth was insufficient. FHLBC has allowed Great Lakes to continue to meet the needs of our low income communities. I respectfully asked that no changes by made to the Federal Home Loan Bank system
