I am writing to share our institution's experience with the FHLB of Topeka. We utilize the FHLB for many services, including line of credit advances, term advances and letters of credit. The FHLB is our key source of liquidity and in the current environment of shrinking deposits, vital to our funding. Having access to both overnight funding and term advances has enabled us to better manage our interest rate risk and offer competitive rates to our customers. The ability to utilize our loan portfolio as collateral for borrowing at the FHLB has allowed us to grow over the past 18 years and serve our communities and customers better.
