The Federal Home Loan Bank is absolutely essential to our business model as a small community bank that serves primarily a 20 mile radius in rural western Missouri. The access to reliable and instant liquidity provides an irreplaceable stability to our daily operations. Without this access our bank could be exposed to frequent, unnecessary adverse liquidity events that would not only be harmful to the bank and the regulatory system that we are accountable to, but most importantly, it could very realistically contribute to a bank failure that would be very harmful to our bank customers and the local economy.
