    The Federal Home Loan Bank system is a critical component of the overall banking system as it is the number one source of liquidity for most community banks in the event of a funding emergency. During the Covid pandemic over the past couple years, First Security Bank of Deer Lodge has turned to the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines for emergency funding.
