FHLB has played a vital role in CCB's growth and prosperity. Over the years, we have used FHLB to issue letters of credit to collateralize low cost deposits, and on certain occasions borrow liquidity in a short-term manner. Accessing liquidity quickly, or collateralizing low cost liquidity (deposits) is pivotal in being able to offer competitive loan products to small businesses in the community. These small businesses drive employment and economic growth. The deployment of capital to the community always begins with have the liquidity to do it, which is where FHLB has been instrumental to us!
