While use of FHLB has been limited until the past couple years, we have great support from the Topeka office which provides close proximity to our bank locations. Their partnership has allowed us to better serve our communities and customers with long-term home financing. Our partnership in the MPF program has been very beneficial.
FHLB Topeka recently has been a stable force for us to lean upon for additional liquidity needs through our ability to pledge collateral to support its lending to the bank. The acceptance of loan collateral provides another great avenue of borrowing capacity that the bank would not otherwise be able to rely on. This enables the bank to better manage our risks to our liquidity and interest rate risk.
