    The FHLB of Des Moines is a critical resource for our community bank. The FHLB provides short term funding for our bank. This allows us to be active in our community providing home loans, consumer loans along with financing business needs. We are a small community however we are very active in home loan origination often times providing non conforming loans to low to moderate income folks. We have also utilized the down payment assistance program allowing individuals and families an opportunity to purchase their first home. I can't stress enough how important the FHLB is to our bank. Without the quick easy access to liquidity we would struggle to provide home loans and safe deposits to our customers. This quick access to funding allows us to pass on a efficient service to our customers. Our institution is one of the original members of the FHLB. The FHLB will always be a partner for our institution allowing us to operate in a safe and sound manner to serve our community.
