Good Afternoon,

As the President & Chief Executive Officer of a small, community bank in Tennessee, the Federal Home Loan Bank system is a valued and trusted resource, in helping us achieve our mission of bringing lending and banking services to the rural, low-income communities we serve. By using term advances from the Home Loan Bank, a small community institution, like the one I represent, is able to fund home loans of all types, from 1-4 family residential construction, to first-time homebuyer fixed rate mortgage, to multi family, affordable housing units.
While there are other funding options available to our institution, none are structured in a way that allows the bank to focus that funding specifically on lending, and offering tailored products that specifically meet the needs of borrowers, in the way advances from the Federal Home Loan Bank can.
