My understanding that the Federal Finance Agency is undergoing a comprehensive review of the FHLB System. I am deeply concern about the expansion of membership to include non-insured and, more importantly, unregulated entities. I am concern about the risks unregulated institutions will undertake and the potential impact on the system. The FHLB system plays an integral role in providing a source of liquidity to banks, thrifts and credit unions. The safety and soundness of the institutions that are members are instrumental in keeping the FHLB system healthy. The FHLBs also is also a resource for affordable housing opportunities and community reinvestment. As a community bank, this is very important to us.
