Our Bank explored the opportunity to become a member of FHLB in 2017 at the recommendation of an FDIC examiner during a safety and soundness exam as a way to increase and diversify liquidity sources. Due to the wide variety of products available to community banks from FHLB, including borrowings and PDPA Letters of Credit, McClave State Bank became a member of FHLB in 2018 has greatly benefitted from this relationship since that time. FHLB is committed to keeping their borrowing process simple and affordable and their staff is very accommodating and helpful.
