Our banks (Platte Valley Bank and Mountain Valley Bank) appreciate all the work that Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) does to support community banks. However, we encourage the FHLB to update its collateral review process. Currently, they must come onsite and view physical files to verify wet signatures on collateral. With the prevalence of e-signatures, this practice feels antiquated and is costly. We suggest they work from images and perform most of their work remotely. Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
