Given the current state of the liquidity markets, I strongly believe re-instating the authority to purchase seasoned bulk pools by both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac would be beneficial to banks and homeowners. As lenders pull back on lending (sometimes subtly, sometimes overtly) due to liquidity concerns, having additional outlets would relieve pressure.
