On a home mortgage whereupon they were going to be collecting interest for several decades I was then informed that their 'fees' were nearly $4,000 !! I had no choice in this scenario when I was at the final stage of purchasing a modest mobile home for $74,000. Obviously I am not a person of great means and financial backup and again, this was not disclosed up front or avoidable.
